Hi! I’m Macy, a writer, editor, musician, and born creative.

I’m originally from Brunswick, Maine, where I grew up reading non-stop and pretending I was a Percy Jackson & The Olympians character. I began my journey with writing and editing by immersing myself in the world of poetry and narrative writing. By age 16, I had written a full-length science-fiction novel and a collection of short poems. I got involved at school as well, receiving the 2016 Cornell Book Award, becoming one of the founding members of the Brunswick High School Literature Club, and being elected as Co-President of the club along with my close confidant the following year. I pride myself (perhaps foolishly) on being an absolute nerd for words since birth. Pictured: three-year-old Macy forcibly reading Winnie the Pooh to her unsuspecting little sister.

At 18, I began attending Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and despite originally enrolling as a biology student, my love of writing always seemed to come first.

While studying life sciences was uniquely fascinating and enlightening, I never really flourished over the microscope as I did over the keyboard. I genuinely enjoyed spending hours meticulously editing my peers’ papers, helping students who spoke English as a second language, and spending my free time working on my next great story idea, which is why I decided to make the switch to becoming an English major. I had the privilege of learning from some of the best English, history, and creative writing professors in Nova Scotia, many of them published authors themselves, who not only helped me shape my voice and hone my skills but gave me the confidence to pursue my writing and editing career. During this time, I also began writing and producing my own music, as I have been a part of many auditioned choirs and wanted to find a way to connect my desire to write with my love of singing.

Since my graduation, I’ve worked with various clients and companies on a wide range of projects.

Often managing multiple ventures at once, I’ve been a key part of many different projects including editing novels alongside fantastic authors, writing for and constructing complex murder-mystery games (awesome, right?), editing real-life court cases alongside AI technology, writing travel articles for a legacy geography resource, and creating copy to be featured in daily newsletters (with 60,000+ subscribers!) for an ever-growing list of brands. I have been able to accomplish all of this while still building up my own personal projects, and leaving time for adventure, family, and friends. Through this hard work I have gained invaluable experience, knowledge, and familiarity with the field; I’m beyond excited to find out what my next project will be and to use my expertise to bring both precision and heart wherever it’s needed.
